Hilong 3LPE is a three layer polyethylene anti corrosion coating applied to the external surface of steel line pipe, combining an epoxy primer, a copolymer adhesive and a polyethylene topcoat.
Three layer polyethylene is the workhorse external coating for buried and submarine transmission pipelines. The epoxy layer delivers adhesion and corrosion resistance to the steel, the adhesive ties the system together and the polyethylene provides the mechanical and moisture barrier. Hilong applies it to pipe from OD 88.9 mm to 1,420 mm in 8 to 18 m lengths, to ISO 21809-1, DIN 30670, NF A49-710 and DNVGL-RP-F106, with capacity around 3 million square metres per year.
